July 2010 - NEWS AKRON AREA NATIVE NINA RAWLS, WIDOW OF SUPERSTAR, Nina Rawls, the widow of soul superstar Lou Rawls, has joined the team of top investors in “25 Hill,” Corbin Bernsen’s film about a boy with a Soap Box Derby dream. Mrs. Rawls grew up in Springfield Township’s Lakemore, which is just outside of Akron where the All American Soap Box Derby is based and is a graduate of Springfield High School. She and her son by Mr. Rawls, Aiden, now split their time between homes in Green (Ohio), Arizona and Los Angeles. The film has been financed primarily through Akron area investors such as Mrs. Rawls. Mrs. Rawls said the “25 Hill” film project is something Lou Rawls would have wholly supported. “He understood how much the Greater Akron area means to me, and he’d do anything to help children,” she said. “This investment of money and time in the film is in close keeping with the spirit and heart of Lou, as anybody who knew him will agree.” Mrs. Rawls plans to help use her talents
and connections in the entertainment industry to promote “25 Hill”
across the globe. Please read the
